Delete your account

You can delete your FinvestR account and its data at any time. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. This page explains exactly how to request it, what gets deleted, and the small set of records we must legally keep.

How to request deletion

Step 1. Send an email from your registered email address to [email protected] with the subject line "Delete my account".

Step 2. We reply within 48 hours to confirm the request is genuinely yours (a short verification step that protects your account from deletion by anyone else).

Step 3. Once you confirm, we delete your account and data. You receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete. The entire process is normally finished within 7 working days, and always within 30 days.

You can also start this process from inside the app: open FinvestR, go to your Profile, and use the account deletion contact link, which opens the same email request.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

• Your login identity, email address and name from our systems
• Your Google sign-in link, if you used Google to sign in
• Every CAS statement and portfolio file you uploaded
• Your parsed holdings, computed analytics and portfolio history
• Your goals, watchlists and profile details
• Your entire chat history with the FinvestR AI assistant

What we keep, and for how long

As an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor (ARN-142502), FinvestR Capital is required by Indian regulations to retain books of account and transaction records for a statutory period. If you transacted through the FinvestR portal, those transaction records are retained as required by law, in a form separated from your deleted profile.

Aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example, total number of uploads in a month) may be retained; these contain no personal data and cannot be linked back to you.

Encrypted backups rotate within 90 days; residual copies in backups are permanently removed on that cycle even though production systems are cleared within 30 days.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You can remove individual items yourself at any time: delete a goal from the Goals page, remove an uploaded statement from the portfolio screen, or clear individual chat conversations. Profile fields can be cleared from your Profile page. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will action it.
